A Brighton networking meal deal, seven outstanding volunteers with 200 years’ experience and a medal between them, and young people say it with thanks.
Burritos in Brighton
It was great to indulge once again, in some excellent company with volunteers at our very own Prince’s Trust supported business – Carlito Burrito in Brighton.
The evening, conversation and chilled drinks flowed seamlessly as we enjoyed the atmosphere at what is now an extremely busy and thriving Mexican restaurant. Many thanks to all those that could come and also to Carlito’s for the excellent food and venue – hope to see you again soon.

Seven outstanding volunteers recognised
A recognition event took place in Hove in June to say thank you to the outstanding contribution of seven special volunteers. The long-serving volunteers are Award Assessors for The Prince’s Trust in Sussex, and their collective volunteer service adds up 200 years!
Programmes & Development Director, Richard Chadwick, attended to personally thank the group for all their hard work over the years.

Brian Watts with his MVO (Member of the Victorian Order) medal received from HRH Prince Charles for his 37 years of volunteering for The Prince’s Trust. Well done Brian!
Young Persons & Volunteers Networking Event
At the recent Young Persons & Volunteers Networking Event in April, young people also expressed their thanks to their mentors in person where some mentors were awarded gift vouchers to spend on the stalls at the event.
Particular thanks was given by young person Stephanie Woolven to her mentor, Carol. Stephanie has received numerous awards for her clothing design business, StephieAnn, and it has now grown to the point that she is being considered for a Growth Award by the Samuel Wilson Trust. Well done to Stephanie and Carol!
Inspiring Talent – a Talent Match event
On a beautiful summer’s day in historical Hastings, Talent Match in Sussex hosted an event supported by delivery partners and Young Ambassadors. Local young people were invited to meet local employers to find out about the real world of work and what employers look for when recruiting. This included a small competition, facilitated by a local engineering company, to see who could build the tallest tower out of limited materials.
