Get on board with social value – maximizing value for money to help more young people.
In these challenging economic times, social value provides an opportunity to achieve a social return through public procurement.. Simply said, social value means getting more value out of every pound spent by government, local authorities and other public bodies. Suppliers and service providers must demonstrate how they achieve clear benefits and economic returns.
What can you do for the young people in your community with social value?
If you are a commissioner commissioning public sector contracts above the threshold of £113,057 (local authorities) or £173,943 (central government and NHS), you need to develop a strategy of which social value requirements you would like to see addressed in a contract.
If you are an organisation bidding for a public sector contract, you need to develop an offer which shows how you will deliver the social value requirements.
How can we help design and deliver social value?
We deliver social value by addressing the following important developments for young people:
- Employability, Training and Skills Development
- Social Skills, confidence, team work, work placements, CV and interview skills
- Excelling in education
- Health and wellbeing of the wider community
- Economic development versus the cost of exclusion
