Last night we lit up iconic buildings across the UK with a creative display to celebrate the hundreds of thousands of people who have been a part of our 40 year history.
London City Hall, Birmingham Council House, Cardiff City Hall, Glasgow City Hall and the Liver building in Liverpool were illuminated to mark the conclusion of our #partofPT Tour, supported by HomeSense. The Tour passed through 17 UK locations in April to thank our supporters and capture stories of people whose lives have been touched by our work.
Portrait artist Nathan Wyburn created a bespoke picture of Prince’s Trust Ambassador Paloma Faith for the display, who received a grant from the charity as a teenager.
Paloma says: “When I was growing up my mum was quite ill and I spent a lot of time caring for her. I was at a very rough school in London, the police were there all the time and there was a lot of violence.
Paloma’s portrait is made up of over 1,000 images of people who have helped to make The Trust what it is today – including young people, fundraisers, volunteers, partners and members of the public who have taken part in some of our events over the years.
Paloma says of the image:
The display also featured the images of local young people who have been supported by The Trust.
