Million Makers teams from across the UK came together on 12th March 2015 to find out who would lift the national winners' trophy.

Teams met at a private reception at Ruby Blue in Leicester Square, where the atmosphere was electric. The teams were greeted by Prince’s Trust Finance Director, Joann Passingham, who opened the celebrations. The highly anticipated awards were presented by Celebrity Ambassador Brooke Kinsella MBE. Following a nervous wait for the teams, Brooke announced the National Million Makers Champions for 2014.

After winning the Million Makers London and South East regional final, Team Transformers from EMC went on to win the national title, having raised an incredible £160,886. The team’s success came through a variety of activities including a gala dinner, auction, office bake-off, golf day and fun run.

Winner of the ‘Innovation Award’ went to Barratt Homes in the East Midlands, for their Building Careers Workshop. Network Rail from Scotland won the Entrepreneurial Team award thanks to their “View from the Top” Forth Rail Bridge experience.

Collaboratively, the hard work of all of the 2014 teams raised a staggering £1,002,013. The teams that went through to the national final after winning the regional heats were Admiral, Barratt Homes, Deesset, Fenwick, Hallmark, IFDS, Network Rail, Power NI, Team TGH, Team Transformers from EMC and Virgin Media.

Alongside celebrating the efforts of 2014, Shona Nichols, Executive Director of Communications at Capita, shared the news of Capita becoming the first National Million Makers sponsor in 2015, in conjunction with their wider support of The Prince’s Trust.

The work of all the teams was put into context by Young Ambassador Ferlondo Fullwood who told guests about his experiences with The Trust and how taking part in the xl and Team programmes has changed his life.

A huge thank you to all the teams for their hard work and dedication. Their fundraising efforts will go onto to change the future of many young lives.
