The Prince's Trust is thrilled to announce a brand new sponsor for the Million Makers 2015-16 competition.

Capita is the first national sponsor to support our Million Makers competition. The challenge sees teams of employees compete to raise a minimum profit of £10,000 from an initial seed funding of £1,500 over six months by implementing entrepreneurial ideas.

The competition, now in its eighth year, has raised over £5million to date. Previous participants have tried ambitious and innovative initiatives which range from creating and selling cookbooks, bespoke furniture, website pixels and even attempting to break world records. All the money raised is invested back into disadvantaged young people across the UK through our programmes.

Million Makers is used by companies as a graduate or talent development opportunity and can also raises the profile of the business’ charitable work in the local community. Through each stage of the competition employees are challenged outside of their normal working role to expand their knowledge, build up new skills and work together across different departments of the business to execute an idea.

Andy Parker, Chief Executive of Capita said:

At Capita we recognise the importance of developing our employees by investing in their skills. We are excited and proud to be supporting Million Makers and The Prince’s Trust to help disadvantaged young people turn their lives around.

Teams across the UK are competing from spring 2015 onwards to be the top team in their region and be entered for the Million Makers final in March 2016.
