Registration and Preparing to Host Your Brilliant Breakfast 

Who can take part? 

Anyone and everyone can host a Brilliant Breakfast and you can invite whoever you like! Friends, family, colleagues or clients - everyone is welcome. All you need to do is choose the location, send your invites and start planning! 

Where do I host my Brilliant Breakfast? 

Work, a park, the kitchen table or virtually, wherever suits you best! 

What dates can I host my Brilliant Breakfast? 

Ideally between 10th and 16th October 2022, but if you need to host either side of this week, that's ok too! 

How do I register to host a Brilliant Breakfast? 

Sign up to host on our registration page. After registering, look out for an email asking you to create a fundraising page on JustGiving. 

What happens after I register to host a Brilliant Breakfast? 

You will receive an email inviting you to create a fundraising page on JustGiving. This page will give you access to your fundraising pack, where you can start planning your breakfast, invite your guests and read all about The Brilliant Breakfast and work of The Prince’s Trust.  

How do I host a Brilliant Breakfast? 

Your breakfast can be as simple or as elaborate as you wish - it's all about getting together and raising funds for The Prince's Trust to change the lives of disadvantaged young women. Put simply, host your Brilliant Breakfast and encourage your guests to donate! 

How do I create my fundraising page? 

Once you've registered, you'll receive an email with a link to set up your JustGiving fundraising page. If you don't already have a JustGiving account, you'll be prompted to create one. If you haven’t received an email within a few hours of registering, check your spam folder. If the email still doesn’t arrive, contact us at brilliantbreakfast@princes-trust.org.uk and our team will help.   

What do I have to do for my Brilliant Breakfast? 

Once you've confirmed a location and invited your guests, you just need to decide what you're providing for breakfast. Whether you're hosting at home or work, you can make breakfast as simple or as elaborate as you wish – from toast and a cup of tea to croissants and pastries from your local bakery, anything goes! Some hosts even work with local restaurants to host their Brilliant Breakfast, particularly if you have lots of guests attending.  

Do I receive a Host Pack? 

Yes, you will find your Host Pack on JustGiving. From here you will find lots of items to help you plan and host your Brilliant Breakfast; from invitations to table settings, to creating your own food flags and fundraising QR codes – we have it all! 

Is there a How to Host Guide? 

Yes – we have a guide for hosting both at home and in the workplace. You can find both in your Host Pack

Fundraising and QR Codes 

Is there a minimum donation?

No. Everyone is welcome to join in with The Brilliant Breakfast and no donation is too small! 

Where do donations to The Brilliant Breakfast go?

All donations go directly to The Prince's Trust to support disadvantaged young women. Young women all over the UK can access the Trust's free courses to help build their confidence and skills and be supported into jobs, self-employment, education or training. Three in four young people supported by The Prince's Trust move into work, education or training. 

How do I fundraise?

Share your fundraising page when inviting your guests so that they can donate before coming to your Brilliant Breakfast. You never know, those who can’t attend may still donate! If guests want to donate on the day, you can easily share the link to your page or have a printout of your own QR code ready to scan and make a donation. Check out your Host Pack for a guide on how to create and use your own QR code. 

How do I share my fundraising page?

The sharing options change depending on whether you access on a computer or mobile phone. Head to your fundraising page and you’ll find the options to share underneath your profile picture. Click your preferred option to open up a new window containing your shareable link.  

Can I create a team fundraising page?

We recommend that companies create a team page, allowing multiple breakfasts to be registered and take place across various locations, with the funds contributing to an overall team total.  

How do I edit my JustGiving fundraising page?

Log in to your JustGiving account and click 'My Page.' The option to ‘Edit Page’ will appear to the bottom left. 

I’ve lost the link to my JustGiving page. How can I find it?

You can log in to view your page by clicking the ‘Log In’ option on the website menu. JustGiving also sent you this link when you first created your fundraising page. If you’d like our team to help, please contact us at brilliantbreakfast@princes-trust.org.uk

How do I create a QR code for my JustGiving page?

Check out your Host Pack for a guide on how to create and use your QR code. You can print the code and display it at your breakfast to encourage your guests to donate.

How do I handle cash donations from my guests?

We suggest you pay any cash donations into your own bank account and donate the amount to your fundraising page. This way it adds to your total and we can celebrate how much you've raised. 

I can't host this year but would still like to donate, is this possible?

Yes, click here to donate to The Brilliant Breakfast without registering as a host. 

One of my guests is unable to attend but would still like to donate. How do they do this?

Send them the link to your Brilliant Breakfast fundraising page so they can donate. 

Can I tick the Gift Aid box on JustGiving?

Only personal donations are eligible for Gift Aid. If you're paying on behalf of someone else, a group of people, a company or have had a chance to win a prize, this amount is not eligible for Gift Aid. You can read all about Gift Aid here.

Yes, there's a video within your Host Pack. You can play this at your breakfast or even send a link to your guests in advance as a handy reminder, whilst also letting them know a bit more about The Brilliant Breakfast and the work of The Prince's Trust. 

Can I share my Brilliant Breakfast on social media?

Absolutely! Please share your Brilliant Breakfast photos and stories on your social channels, tagging @TheBrilliantBreakfast on Instagram and Facebook or @BrilliantBrekky on Twitter including #TheBrilliantBreakfast. You can find social posts to share in your Host Pack, just make sure that you select the right one for hosting at home or work!

Can I purchase Brilliant Breakfast merchandise?

Waitrose will have a charity bag on sale with a donation per bag being donated to The Brilliant Breakfast. You can also use one of the templates available in your Host Pack to make your own food flags and bunting.
