A 45-minute spinning workout can allow you to burn around 500 calories. The number of calories you'll burn depends on your weight and the intensity of your workout.

Progress at your own pace

You control the resistance of your bike, and how quickly you pedal. No one knows what level anyone else is working at, and everybody is free to progress at their own pace – which is great because it accommodates people of all fitness levels.

Build your mental strength

Set aside all thoughts that are irrelevant to the spinning class and give your undivided attention to the present moment. Practice being fully aware of the bike and your connection to it, your actions and of the present moment. As the mind starts to wander, the body falls out of sync and distracts us from the task at hand.

Improve cardiovascular endurance

Spinning is a great way to help you prepare for the hill climbs in our 90-mile Palace to Palace cycle ride. If you find yourself panting even after a small amount of exercise, such as climbing a flight of stairs, spinning is a great way to improve your cardio endurance.

Low impact workout

A spinning workout is a low impact exercise. This means that it won’t put pressure on knees or ankles as other aerobic or running exercises do.
