Ant & Dec's Making it in Media

This brand-new course, kicking off in July 2021, will help young people gain experience and develop the skills they need to make it in media.

Information for Young People

Course dates: 11th – 22nd October

Location: Manchester

Open to 16-25 year olds in Greater Manchester who are not currently in work or education, this free course with Ant and Dec and The Reporters' Academy is the perfect introduction to the media and TV industries.

We've partnered with media and TV specialists to give you an insight into what happens behind the scenes. You'll learn a broad range of practical skills and insider knowledge through masterclasses on topics such as script writing, camera work, lighting and video editing.

This course is a great opportunity to explore everything that goes into making a TV show and to learn more about the range of careers available in the industry.

You'll gain hands-on experience and training, and meet industry experts who will share tips and experiences from their own careers in the industry. By the end of the course, you'll have made your own mini TV package which you'll showcase to the group at our celebration event.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for this course you must meet the following criteria:

  • Aged 16-25
  • Living in Greater Manchester
  • Not in education, employment or training
  • Have no previous experience of studying media or related subjects at college or university

Information for businesses

Ant and Dec’s Making it in Media project with The Prince’s Trust is a unique programme for young people in Greater Manchester. Young people can learn about the entertainment industry through industry-leading masterclasses across 10 days and access job and training opportunities, with help from industry experts, mentors and partners.

As part of the course, young people will build their confidence, make new friends, and learn new skills. They will also receive help with their CV and interview techniques, helping them to get ready for the world of work, all in a supportive environment. We’re keen to help bring on the next generation of talent.

After the programme, you will meet with diverse, work-ready young talent, excited to impress you in an afternoon of interviews at our Get Hired event, with a goal of starting their media careers with your business.
