Barclays is now the largest corporate supporter of the personal development programme that gives unemployed young people the skills and confidence they need to move forward with their lives.

The Prince’s Trust has partnered with Barclays to help support over 1,200 young people through The Trust’s Team programme. Team is a 12-week personal development programme that supports young people to gain new skills and qualifications, meet new people, get help with job hunting and CV-writing and boost their self-confidence and motivation.

Barclays supports the programme as part of their 5 Million Young Futures commitment to helping five million young people build the skills they need to fulfil their potential by the end of 2015. They are now the largest corporate supporter of The Prince's Trust's Team programme.

Team also gives young people the opportunity to take part in a community project such as rejuvenating wasteland to benefit local residents or sprucing up a community space. Young people are responsibile for planning the activity, fundraising for materials and carrying out and completing the project. As part of their partnership with The Trust, Barclays is providing seed funding to 1,000 Team cohorts across the UK in order to kick-start fundraising activities and help young people to make a real difference to their local community.

More than 180 Barclays colleagues have volunteered with The Prince's Trust since September 2014, giving over 1,600 hours of their time to help disadvantaged young people move into work, education or training.
