Shula
Shula, 25 from Southampton, was unemployed and looking for work when she discovered The Prince’s Trust. Through one of the charity’s employment programmes, Shula managed to gain employment.
Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus crisis, Shula’s employment contract was terminated after many of the retail stores closed. She got back in contact with The Prince’s Trust for support during a time that she isn’t finding easy.
“After losing my job, I felt as if I were back at square one. I really wasn’t sure what to do next as I was out of work and due to my health condition, I’ve had to stay at home for 12 weeks.
“I’ve attended a few virtual coffee mornings and personal development sessions with other people around my age. I’m hoping to go back to my job when the lockdown is over so I’m glad to have access to these sessions during this time so I can maintain my confidence levels and keep busy from home.
“If I learnt one thing that I’d like to pass on it’s that if you’re lacking in confidence, the feeling won’t last forever. There is help out there and people really do care about you, I wouldn’t be where I am today without The Prince’s Trust. You just have to give something new a try.”
