Molly Moore, 25, from Coventry, found her dream marketing job through Kickstart.
“I used to work in events and was furloughed at the start of the pandemic. It didn’t occur to me that there would be any jobs like that left, so I was really excited when my work coach told me that Go Ape were offering Kickstart six-month placements in marketing. I actually have a degree in marketing, and I’m an outdoorsy person, so I applied for it immediately.
“I’ve been working at Go Ape for three-and-a-half months now, and I couldn’t be happier. The team I work with are so friendly, and it’s a really creative role. A lot of it is marketing on social media, so I’ve even learnt how to use TikTok! I get access to free Go Ape days for family and friends too.
“I don’t know yet if I’ll be taken on permanently by Go Ape, but if not that’s fine, because now I know my long term goal is marketing I’ll keep looking for jobs with my experience.
“My advice to other young people is that there’s a lot of pressure to go down one route, but you’re young and you don’t have to decide right now. You have plenty of time to try new things.”
