When the Coronavirus pandemic meant that Ellie Bebbington couldn’t continue practicing as a self-employed makeup and brow artist, she decided to spend her time building her digital skills, helping to increase her business’ online presence and social media accounts for future success.
“I was unable to open my salon and decided I wanted to do something positive that would keep me busy, but also help me to grow my wedding makeup business and salon Doll Parts for when things go back to normal.
“I found out about The Prince’s Trust Get Started with Digital Skills programme when I was looking for support at the Job Centre and signed-up straightaway. It was just what I was looking for!
“It was five days long and I soon got to know the other 15 young people taking part online, alongside setting clear objectives for what I wanted to achieve.
“The sessions were centred around online modules on the Google Digital Garage website and we learnt about everything from Search Engine Optimisation – to grow the number of customers visiting my website – to content and advertising.
“My hope is to drive more bookings to my website and fill my diary following the Covid-19 outbreak, and I’m now feeling more positive about doing that since taking part in the programme.”
