From struggles of unemployment during the pandemic, Decoda felt a change in her confidence when she recieved multiple job opportunities and chose to be a support worker in a residential care home.
After completing a programme with The Prince’s Trust, Decoda secured six interviews in the healthcare sector and was successfully offered five different roles. She couldn’t believe that she could now choose from the multiple job opportunities offered to her and is now a support worker in a residential care home.
“My first day on the programme had a massive impact on me. I felt my confidence grow so much that after leaving my first session with The Prince’s Trust, I volunteered to read in front of my church, something that I never would have done before.
I feel so lucky to have come across The Prince’s Trust. Being unemployed during lockdown has been intense and when your confidence is low, it really makes you feel like there is no hope. Being a single mother is not easy at the best of times, we’ve been staying with family to save money but now I have a salary, I can work towards becoming more financially independent.
