Corrig Mcgonigle
Corrig Mcgonigle, from Llansadwrn, Anglesey, is embarking on a career in construction after completing a Get into programme in North Wales.
20 year old Corrig had often aspired to work in construction but without a lot of experience, and lacking certain qualifications, he found it difficult to break into the industry.
After two months being unemployed, Corrig was signposted to our Get into Construction programme, run in partnership with Kier Construction, Willmott Dixon and Wynne Construction – companies that form part of the North Wales Construction Framework. He says,
Corrig excelled during the course, gaining experience in different parts of the industry and shadowing a foreman on a working construction site. He also gained several qualifications, including the essential CSCS card which proves holders have the basic skills required to contribute to an active work site. Kier Construction were so impressed by Corrig that they offered him full-time employment on completion of the programme. He says,
