Having completed college, Charlotte Perrot struggled to secure a job and found herself unemployed for over a year. Talent Match has helped boost her confidence and land a job.
Charlotte, 22 from Boston, Lincolnshire, attended a Get Started with Robots programme (run by The Prince’s Trust and funded through Talent Match). It was here that she met her local Youth Advocate who introduced her to Talent Match and explained how it could help her. After a year of job searching and numerous rejections from job applications, Charlotte's confidence started to take a knock and she began to struggle with anxiety and health problems. She was also finding her financial circumstances were holding her back.
Charlotte's Youth Advocate helped her arrange invaluable work experience at the Jobcentre which she completed with the support of Talent Match and the DWP contact. Her dedication and hard work paid off as she became a full-time paid Area Ambassador for the Boston area. This was a huge confidence boost and Charlotte felt positive that her new role would mean helping other young people that were experiencing similar barriers to employment. Now progressing in her role, Talent Match has helped her boost her confidence and find work which has led to improving her financial stability.
Looking forwards, Charlotte wants to continue her self-development in her role, working on number of exciting projects. Although unsure what the future brings, she believes that’s she is “living in the now” and hopes to live independently soon and start saving for the future.
