Anna Hepburn is a handmade contemporary textiles and upholstery studio which focuses on colour, pattern and texture to create statement pieces.

Originally from the South coast, Anna first studied a BA Contemporary Fine Arts at Byam Shaw School of Art in London, graduating in 2011. She then furthered her academic successes when she studied a short Upholstery course in early 2017. Around the same time, Anna quit her job to live her dream and after a tough time with temporary agencies, discovered the Explore Enterprise programme with The Prince’s Trust.

“I knew very little about running a business and found the course to cover all the basics, which formed an excellent beginning in forging the business.”

Moving forward, she plans to grow the business slowly and has learnt that doing things at her own pace is crucial in order to maintain motivation and stability. Anna Hepburn strives to use recycled, UK made or ethically sourced materials in all the designs she produces, with a view to develop the brands own knitted fabrics. Anna's aim is bring fun and colour to grown-up living. Her items are made in small batches and each individual piece is completely unique!

“I found the assistance with writing the business plan the most rewarding as it opened my eyes to what I wanted and helped me to form an achievable plan of how to get it.”

Her future is bright – returning to the City of Glasgow College to study a HND course in Furniture Restoration until 2019 and working towards having her products in a range of stores. Having fallen in love with Glasgow, Anna feels like she will make a great success of Anna Hepburn with the resources and assistance available to her throughout the City.
