Modern Slavery Act Statement 2017-2018
The Prince’s Trust has a zero-tolerance approach to slavery and is committed to preventing acts of slavery and human trafficking from occurring within its business and supply chain.
This statement explains our approach to preventing acts of slavery and human trafficking.
Our status, operations and supply chain
The Prince’s Trust is registered as a charity 1079675 (England and Wales) and SC041198 (Scotland) and incorporated by Royal Charter (RC000772). Our commercial activities are dealt with by our wholly owned subsidiary, Prince’s Trust Trading Limited.
We work with vulnerable young people in the United Kingdom to change their lives and get into work, education, training or volunteering. In addition, through Prince’s Trust International and other subsidiaries in the Prince’s Trust Group, we support young people in countries across the world.
Much of our support for young people is delivered through partner organisations and with the aid of volunteers. We also work with a diverse range of sponsors, funders and suppliers who will have their own suppliers, sub-contractors and partners. Further detail of our work and organisational structure can be found on our website.
Our policies on slavery and human trafficking
We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our organisation. Further, we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.
Our procurement policies cover the actions required to obtain goods and services on behalf of The Prince’s Trust from external third party suppliers. The policy’s objectives include ensuring all suppliers are dealt with professionally, fairly and ethically.
We have a range of other policies to ensure that we act in a lawful, ethical and transparent way, including the following:
- Anti-bribery and gifts and hospitality policy
- Whistleblowing policy
- Anti-money laundering policy
- Ethical fundraising.
