All of the charities within The Prince’s Trust Group were established by HRH The Prince of Wales. Together, they are providing meaningful support for young people, military veterans, indigenous groups and environmental projects.

The Prince’s Trust Group Operations function provides advice and support to the Chairs and Chief Executives of all the charities within The Prince’s Trust Group.

Dame Martina Milburn DCVO CBE

Group Chief Executive

Dame Martina joined The Prince’s Trust in May 2004 and became Group Chief Executive in 2017. She is responsible for overseeing the success of the six charitable organisations within the Prince’s Trust Group covering the UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United States and International.

Dame Martina trained and began her career as a journalist, established the Press and Communications function for the Catholic Fund for Overseas Development (CAFOD) and worked on a freelance basis for a range of national media. She then held the post of Chief Executive of the Association of Spinal Injury Research, Rehabilitation and Reintegration (ASPIRE). In 2000 she became Chief Executive of the BBC Children in Need Appeal.

Dame Martina has been a trustee of several charities including the National Citizen Service and Capital City College Group. In 2018 she became Chair of the Social Mobility Commission.

Dame Martina received a CBE for services to charity in 2013. In the 2017 New Year Honours list she received the honour of Dame Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (DCVO)

Simon Major 

Group General Counsel & Company Secretary

Simon joined The Trust in February 2017 and assists Dame Martina Milburn with the governance of The Prince’s Trust Group.

He also leads the Legal, Governance, Risk & Internal Audit and Data Protection & Security functions of The Prince’s Trust. Simon is Company Secretary of The Prince’s Trust, Prince’s Trust International and Prince’s Trust Trading Limited. 

Previously Simon was General Counsel & Company Secretary at WWF and prior to that Deputy General Counsel at Save the Children. Simon started his legal career specialising in international finance law with a particular focus on infrastructure projects in Europe and sub-Saharan Africa. He has a MA in International Peace and Security and the role of the UN Security Council.

Dermot Finch

Director of Group Operations

Dermot joined The Prince’s Trust in 2012. He advises and supports the Group Chief Executive, Chairs and Chief Executives of all the Prince’s Trust charities, enabling the operational effectiveness of The Prince’s Trust Group.

For five years, Dermot led The Trust’s programme delivery in London and the South of England, supporting thousands of young people into education, training and employment.

Previously, Dermot was the founding CEO of the Centre for Cities, which produces independent research and policy analysis on the economic performance of UK cities. Before that, Dermot held a range of roles in HM Treasury and was First Secretary (Economic Affairs) at the British Embassy in the United States.

Fergal Lynch

Director of Global Events

Fergal joined The Prince’s Trust in 2012. He supports the Events fundraising strategy for all The Prince’s Trust Group charities. Fergal also looks after the Global Ambassadors who support The Trust around the world.

Additionally, Fergal is part of the Royal liaison between Clarence House and The Trust, managing all Royal events, interactions and communications.

For five years, Fergal led the Prince’s Trust UK Ambassadors and Events team, supporting the team to deliver excellence both internally and externally. Previously, he was the Global Head of Events for KPMG International.
