Jonathan Townsend

UK Chief Executive

Jonathan has been UK Chief Executive of The Prince’s Trust since April 2020. He re-joined The Prince’s Trust at the end of 2019 as the Interim CEO, on secondment from Prince’s Trust International where he had been Chief Executive since January 2017. Prior to that he spent four years working as Director for The Prince’s Trust in the North of England.

Before joining The Prince’s Trust, Jonathan worked in the drinks and hospitality industry for 26 years, during which time he worked for companies including Bass, Scottish and Newcastle and Heineken in Senior Management positions for the last 14 of these. The work was mainly in the UK but for three years it involved the licensing of brands from across the world for sale in the UK.

Kim Cleland

Director of People and Learning

Kim joined The Trust in 2019 after undertaking leadership roles over a period of 15 years across a number of HR disciplines in both commercial and not-for-profit sectors.

In her role at The Trust, she is focussed on the experience of our colleagues and volunteers, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to realise their potential, delivering the best work for young people.

Frances Milner

Director of Fundraising & Marketing

Frances was previously the Executive Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships at Cancer Research UK, responsible for developing and leading the high-value fundraising strategy. She has a broad experience of senior leadership, fundraising and marketing over 25 years.

Frances started her fundraising career in Regional Fundraising at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund and, following the merger to form Cancer Research UK, created and led the Innovation Team. She went on to become the Fundraising Director at Maggie’s, including leading their 'Joy of Living' capital campaign to build five new Maggie’s Centres.

She returned to Cancer Research UK in 2010, as the Supporter-Led Fundraising Director, leading the Race for Life and Events team, Regional Fundraising, High Value Supporter Partnerships, Sports and Volunteering, before taking up her role on the Executive Board in 2015.

Listed in Fundraising Magazine’s '25 Most Influential' in 2018, Frances is a passionate fundraising development professional and has led several pioneering fundraising initiatives within the UK and internationally.

She is also a Trustee for MAG (Mines Advisory Group), a member of the Institute of Fundraising Learning and Development Committee and a mentor for both the Tony Elischer Foundation and the University of Leeds.

Julia Beaumont

Chief Technology Officer

Following a 16-year career in digital and technology consulting, Julia joined The Prince’s Trust as their Chief Technology Officer in November 2020.

In her role at The Prince’s Trust, she is leading the transformation of technology, digital and data services for the charity’s employees and volunteers, as well as for the young people they serve.

Prior to joining The Trust, Julia’s consulting experience was a combination of digital transformation, large programme delivery and operating model design and implementation. 

Louise Spencer

Director of Delivery

Louise joined The Prince’s Trust in September 2021 as Director of Delivery. Prior to this, she had worked in the Department for Levelling Up, supporting communities to build resilience, and in the Prison Service, including governing three prisons and as Director for the London Prisons Group. She has a broad experience of leading teams in challenging operational environments and is passionate about giving people the opportunity to build more positive futures.

She is also a Trustee for The Hardman Trust, which supports prisoners to plan for their future after release.

Saras Seth

Chief Financial Officer

Saras Seth joined The Trust as CFO in February 2020 and brings a breadth of experience across both commercial and charity sectors to the role.

Saras has worked across a range on industries, including Not for Profit. International Development, Healthcare & Retail and Digital Media & Content. His most recent roles before joining The Trust were with Scope and Oxford Policy Management.

Saras enjoys reading, attending art exhibitions and museums and is a member of the Royal Academy of Arts, the British Museum and the National Portrait Gallery.

Kevin Gibbs

Director of Safeguarding

Kevin joined The Trust in July 2021 as the first Director of Safeguarding.  In this role, he leads on The Trust achieving and maintain a 'safeguarding first' approach to all aspects of our work.  This ensures that all the people who come in contact with The Trust are safeguarded, protected and enabled to achieve their best outcomes.

Kevin is a Registered Social Worker and has been involved in social work, child protection and safeguarding for more than 30 years.  Prior to joining The Prince’s Trust, Kevin was Director of Operational Service Delivery in Cafcass, the largest children’s social work organisation in the UK and has previously worked for the NSPCC, the Probation Service and in other safeguarding organisations.    

Jo Hutchinson

Director of Programme Development

Jo Hutchinson, brown haired woman in black top.

Jo joined The Prince's Trust in 2015 to lead the newly-created Digital Marketing team, before stepping up as Director of Design and Digital to develop the organisation's digital strategy and innovate services using virtual delivery.

She was appointed to the new role of Director Programme Development in August 2021 and oversees insight, impact and the design of The Trust's services, ensuring that they meet the changing needs of young people.

Before joining The Trust, Jo built her profile leading digital transformation within publishing and then media. Most notably at ITV Studios where she worked to engage global audiences via online channels, and at the BBC where she was part of the first team leveraging social media to reach fans.

Group Roles

Simon Major

Group General Counsel & Company Secretary

Simon joined The Trust in February 2017 and leads the Legal, Governance & Assurance Function. He also assists Dame Martina Milburn with the governance of the wider Prince’s Trust Group.

Previously Simon was General Counsel & Company Secretary at WWF and prior to that Deputy General Counsel at Save the Children.

Simon started his legal career specialising in international finance law with a particular focus on infrastructure projects in Europe and sub-Saharan Africa.

He is also a trustee of YoungMinds and the Chelsea Physic Garden.
