On Tuesday 6th March 25 bloggers and YouTubers joined us at The Photographers’ Gallery for our pre-event reception ahead of our National Prince's Trust and TK Maxx & Homesense Awards.
We were joined by Celebrity Ambassador’s Tom and Giovanna Fletcher who also hosted an ‘Instagram Story Takeover’ on our official Instagram channel, capturing live behind the scenes content and interviewing the award winners as they came off stage.
Among them were also L’Oréal All Worth It Spokesmodel, Victoria Magrath, YouTube sensations Meg Says, Riyadh Khalaf and Calum McSwiggan, as well as fashion and lifestyle blogger Em Talks. To kick things off, Young Ambassador, Zack Chandler delivered a speech, explaining how with the help of The Trust, he has managed to transform his life.
Guests then enjoyed a selection of sweet and savoury treats before being escorted down the red carpet to the London Palladium where the ceremony commenced. The Prince’s Trust and TK Maxx and Homesense Awards recognise disadvantaged young people who have succeeded against the odds, improved their chances in life and had a positive impact on their local community, as well as those who have played a part in supporting the work of The Trust.
We have been working with bloggers and YouTubers for the past year to help us reach more young people. Tom Fletcher, Giovanna Fletcher, Danielle Varnier, Oli White and Ben Towers have supported us with previous Prince’s Trust events and campaigns including Get Hired, Enterprise Everywhere and Ideas Mean Business.
In September 2017, lifestyle blogger Scarlett London announced The Prince’s Trust as the official charity partner of her Blogger’s Festival and we were invited to attend with three Trust supported businesses, giving us the opportunity to network with over 200 bloggers.
Body confidence blogger Callie Thorpe also attended our London and South East Regional Prince’s Trust Awards last November and health and lifestyle blogger Lottie Murphy is taking on our 90-mile flagship cycling challenge Palace to Palace after completing the 45-mile bike ride last year.
