This week we've been celebrating the record-breaking, collective efforts of the incredible businesses that took part in the 2018 Million Makers competition. After The Prince’s Trust Awards, we brought together the regional winners to celebrate at the National Million Makers Final.

Million Makers is the ultimate entrepreneurial fundraising challenge which sees teams of employees, from companies across the UK, competing to raise at least £10,000 or more over a period of six months. In 2018, we had 45 teams participate nationally, with the aim to develop their entrepreneurial skills and raise money for The Prince’s Trust.

The national aim of the competition is to raise £1 million, but after a few years of raising well over the one million pound mark, we were set an even bigger challenge! On stage, at The Prince’s Trust Awards in 2018, Ant and Dec set the Million Makers competition a big goal to aspire to – raise over £2 million for the first time. This wouldn’t be an easy task, but our enthusiastic and competitive teams were eager to do their best. We are ecstatic to announce that this year, the teams have raised a phenomenal £2,223,219.

This year we have seen teams be more creative, engage more colleagues across their company and raise more money than ever before. A massive congratulations to Team Aspire from Ascential, our 2018 national winners, who raised a record breaking £357,132 through a variety of initiatives. This year, 89% of participants stated that they felt Million Makers was a safe environment to develop skills, with 83% affirming they had grown in their time management and leadership abilities.

Our Million Makers teams receive fantastic support along the way, so we would like to say a big thank you to all of the Prince’s Trust volunteers, company mentors and senior leaders, who have advised and championed the teams in 2018. We would also like to thank our national sponsors, Ascential. Their sponsorship of the 2018 competition, has created a very special momentum for the teams involved, culminating in an incredible series of regional final events.

Natasha Christie-Miller, CEO of Ascential Intelligence says:

We know first-hand from our own team, just how much hard work, determination and resilience the teams had to invest to get to this point. We know of the support given from mentors and businesses along the way. The money that you have raised is truly life changing, reaching young people that need it the most. Well done!

The 2019 competition is just around the corner and we are currently recruiting teams to take part across the UK. If you would like to speak to a member of our team about how your company can get involved, please get in touch. You can email the team at or call us on 020 7543 1414.
