Prince’s Trust Chief Executive Dame Martina Milburn has today been presented with a special award in recognition of her outstanding contribution in the field of education.
The Naz Legacy Honorary Fellowship of Education Award was presented by the secretary of State for Education, the Rt Hon Justine Greening MP, at a reception in London.
Dame Martina has been Chief Executive of The Prince’s Trust for 13 years. The charity has now supported 870,000 vulnerable young people, including more than 200,000 who have been helped to achieve in education.
The Naz Legacy Foundation was set up to continue the legacy of the late Naz Bokhari OBE. Naz was the first Asian Muslim head teacher in the UK. The Foundation has raised considerable sums to support educational causes, including Mosaic, which is now part of The Prince’s Trust.
