The Prince’s Trust and Samsung Celebrate Success Awards took place in Cardiff on 23 November. Celebrity Ambassador, Lisa Rogers, hosted the award ceremony. She tells us how important it is for her to get involved with The Prince’s Trust.

Lisa, why did you want to be a part of Celebrate Success?

LR: Over the years I have seen the difference The Prince’s Trust has made to young lives and I am always keen to support the charity in the work they do. Celebrate Success is always such a fantastic event and the stories of the young people never fail to amaze me. I was grateful to be given the opportunity to host the event again, and I would like to congratulate all of the young people on what they have achieved.

You are an Ambassador for The Prince’s Trust. Why is it so important for you to give time to help the charity?
LR: The vast majority of young people have the determination and willingness to find work and be successful but often they lack skills, confidence and the right opportunity. The Trust is there to offer a helping hand, to bridge the gaps between young jobseekers and employers, and give young people a second chance. I am proud to support their work!

Tell us about the young people nominated for the Welsh Prince’s Trust and Samsung Celebrate Success Awards. How have they inspired you?
LR: All of the young people have shown incredible resilience – overcoming issues such as homelessness, family bereavement and bullying - and their nominations are a testament to what they have achieved. Like so many others who will read their stories, I applaud their accomplishments.

What is your message to young people in Wales who are struggling to find their path in life?
LR: Don’t be afraid to ask for help! I always say each day is an opportunity, to build on yesterday’s success or put the past behind you. If you are unsure about which way to turn, get in touch with The Prince’s Trust and see how they can help you.
