James Hughes had his very own throwback experience when he visited his old highschool to talk about how The Prince’s Trust gave him the confidence to audition for XFactor.
Now aged 17, James went back to his school in Scotland, St. Aidan’s, and met with young people who are thinking of choosing our Achieve programme.
James took part in the xl programme two years ago, which has since been developed into our new Achieve programme. It gives young people practical experience to help develop their life skills, discover their skills and aspirations for the future, preparation for the world of work, and a Prince’s Trust qualification.
He recently made it all the way to Judges’ Houses on the XFactor and says it thanks to The Prince’s Trust that he had the confidence to audition.
James said: "I would recommend the Achieve programme to everyone at school. Having The Prince’s Trust on your CV means something to employers and they trust it."
Tracey Keating, who was one of James’ teachers at St.Aidan’s, also recognised the positive difference the programme had on his confidence.
