The Prince’s Trust Cheryl’s Trust Centre in Newcastle officially opened today, with Celebrity Ambassador Cheryl in attendance.

The new centre, which has been operating since November, is located on Blandford Square and will build on The Prince’s Trust’s existing presence in the area. It will significantly increase support for unemployed young people across the North East, connecting them with even more training opportunities and jobs.

Speaking ahead of the launch, Cheryl said: "It seems like a lifetime since I started talking about opening a centre in Newcastle with The Prince’s Trust. I cannot believe the dream is finally real.

Getting to this stage hasn’t been easy but we did it. I want to thank every single person and company that has helped me reach this milestone. Without all the support and help along the way we would never have been able to get here. My heart if so full of pride, love and hope.

Nick Stace, Chief Executive of The Prince’s Trust, said:

We are very grateful to Cheryl and proud of all that she has done to support The Prince’s Trust. This centre is a huge achievement and will help us to support over 5,000 young people in the next three years and grow delivery of all our programmes, enabling even more young people in the North East to live, learn and earn.

Cheryl has had a long-standing relationship with The Prince’s Trust and, in 2015, Cheryl’s Trust launched a fundraising campaign to help The Prince’s Trust open the new centre. To achieve this goal, Cheryl’s Trust worked in particular with ICAP, Quintessentially Foundation and Greggs.
