The Prince's Trust has appointed Alison Brittain as a Trustee to its Council

Alison, who brings vast experience from the private sector, is currently the CEO of Whitbread PLC. Whitbread has been one of our partners since 2013 and supports young people to develop their employability skills by delivering our Get into Hospitality programme. The programme runs across the UK through Premier Inn and Costa as part of Whitbread’s WISE programme (Whitbread Investing in Skills and Employment) and Movement to Work (MTW) commitments.

Alison says:

Having seen the incredible impact of The Prince’s Trust’s work for a number of years, I’m delighted to join the Trustees and look forward to contributing to the continuing evolution of the charity. In helping unemployed and vulnerable young people into work, education or training, The Trust transforms young lives and I look forward to championing its work.

Prior to joining Whitbread, Alison was Group Director of Lloyd’s Banking Group’s Retail Division, where she was responsible for the Lloyds Bank, Halifax and Bank of Scotland retail branch networks, the Telephone Banking and Intermediary channels and Customer Products, in addition to the Retail Business Banking and UK Wealth businesses.

Alison previously held senior roles at Santander UK, including Board Director and Executive Director, and spent 19 years with Barclays, including as Director of Barclays and Woolwich Retail networks, and as Managing Director of Barclays Business Banking.  Alison is a Non-Executive Director for Marks & Spencer Group PLC and has an MBA from Judge Business School, Cambridge, and a BA in Business Studies from the University of Stirling.

Martina Milburn, Chief Executive of The Prince’s Trust, says:

The skills and experience Alison brings to our Council will be a valuable asset to The Prince’s Trust. Alison shares our commitment to helping the UK’s most disadvantaged young people to succeed in life and we’re pleased to welcome her onto The Prince’s Trust Council.
