The Prince's Trust Women's Leadership Group is an innovative fundraising initiative with a dedicated committee of leading, influential women committed to raising funds to help young women get their lives back on track.
Of the 40,000 young people The Trust helps each year, only 15,000 will be young women. And the majority of our donors are male. Our mission is to involve more women in our work and to motivate our female supporters to help us help more disadvantaged young women than ever before.
WLG achievements to date:
£2 million raised in pledged funds;
27 members, including 9 patrons;
19 dedicated women completed the first women-only Challenge Event, climbing Mount Toubkal in Morocco, the highest mountain in North Africa;
17 events held since our launch in November 2006;
As a direct result of WLG funds 5 Prince’s Trust projects have been developed and delivered; and
Some members are actively volunteering.
The year ahead:
Develop the projects we have started in 2007 and identify at least two new ones;
Increase our membership to 100 over a three-year period;
Work to increase the number of female beneficiaries of The Trust from the current 36% to parity over 3 years;
Continue to ensure our members feel valued and involved; and
Develop an effective network that enables the members to leverage their strengths.

"The WLG is a tremendous initiative where successful women (and men) come together for a cause that is greater than any one of us: the empowerment of young women to take control of their lives and become positive agents of change.
"We would like to continue to harness the economic, intellectual and political power of women in this country to create opportunities for young women through education and enterprise. By giving our time and money we will ensure that the programmes of The Prince's Trust are accessible and tailored to young women and that new programmes are created to reach a larger segment of our target group."
