Minister grilled by UK Tech CEOs

Treasury number 2 Yvette Cooper attended a lunch with business leaders from the tech sector. The minister faced questions ranging from the credit crunch to tax treatment of stock options. The lunch provided an excellent opportunity for the technology sector to get its views across to Government.

This lunch is one of a series where leading politicians meet prospective member companies of the TLG. The next lunch is in October and will feature a leading opposition politician.

TLG welcomes Sir Mike Rake

Incoming BT Chairman Sir Mike Rake was the guest speaker at a lunch held for members of the TLG recently. Sir Mike spoke about the challenges facing the UK economy and answered questions from the membership.

TLG Chairman Richard Holway thanked Sir Mike for all the support which The Prince’s Trust continues to receive from BT.

The Prince of Wales congratulates TLG

HRH The Prince of Wales celebrated the TLG's magnificent feat of raising over £5m for the Business Programme at the TLG Gala dinner on the 2nd July. Held at Windsor Castle and sponsored by McAfee, the dinner saw 300 guests from across the technology sector gather to celebrate this incredible achievement.

The Prince gave special thanks for all the hard work of the Chairman Richard Holway and the committee. He also welcomed Capgemini as a new Platinum Patron. Capgemini will be donating £1m over the next 3 years to support the Business Programme.

Yachting heroine launches Challenges

Tracy Edwards MBE, skipper of the first all-female team in the toughest round of the world yacht race, launched Prince’s Trust Challenge Events at a special open evening in April.

Tracy’s motivational talk inspired employees from many local firms to sign up to Challenge Events covering all parts of the globe. Tracy herself will be heading off to Namibia with the Women's Leadership Group in September. Click here for more
