Malcom Bell

As a Business Mentor for The Prince's Trust, Malcolm Bell has been providing support to young people starting their own businesses in Northern Ireland since 2000.

Malcolm BellBorn in Ballymena; Malcolm remembers a happy childhood, encouraged to make the best of his talents. Following in his dad’s footsteps, Malcolm joined a bank, working for 38 years before retiring as Manager of the Bank of Ireland, Portadown Branch.

During his time in the bank, Malcolm enjoyed getting to know his clients and seeing them progress. With this in mind and having been impressed by the concept of The Prince’s Trust, he decided to get involved as a volunteer Business Mentor, feeling that he could use his experience to help young people.

In recognition of his support Malcolm received the Resource Volunteer of the Year award in 2006. A decade on from first joining The Prince’s Trust, Malcolm still enjoys seeing the success of the young people he has worked with.
