Seven marathon challenge
Igloo
Books employees undertake the ultimate challenge in aid of The
Trust- Seven marathons in seven days in seven
countries
Four colleagues from Igloo Books in Sywell,
Northamptonshire are undertaking a mammoth challenge next year.
John Styring, Jonny Illingworth, Mark Burge and Dean Cornish are
planning on running the full City marathon courses in six European
cities during the week of 15th April 2012, before finishing with
their 7th marathon that week at the Virgin London Marathon on 22nd
April. The first step in the long road to achieving their goal was
successfully undertaken last month, when the four workmates
completed the Paris Marathon.
The next step is running two marathons in two days in two
countries in October (30th Frankfurt Marathon and 31st October
Dublin Marathon), a mammoth achievement in itself, but only another
training run really before the rigours of ‘7 in 7’ next year. The
four colleagues are hoping to raise £100,000 for the
Northamptonshire branch of The Prince's Trust.
One of the entrants, Mark Burge, said
We fancied doing a big challenge for charity,
and felt that one marathon wasn’t enough. Doing seven may just be a
step too far, but we’re focused on achieving that goal.
