Palace to Palace London 2012
This
flagship event has just celebrated its 7th
year having gone from strength to strength.
Supported by Saudi Aramco for the third year
running, Palace to Palace London 2012 saw 3,000 participants
cycle from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle on Sunday 14th
October, with the route offering arguable some of the best sights
of any London cycle ride.
From the start line alongside St James’s
Park, cyclists set off down the tree lined Mall towards
Buckingham Palace, before heading towards the River Thames.
Riders then pedalled through Fulham and
across Putney Bridge and headed towards Richmond Park, passing
the the magnificent red and fallow deer that roam the
park.
Departing Richmond Park participants cycled
towards Kingston-upon-Thames and crossed back over the river into
Bushey Park and up to Virginia Water and Egham. After that was
the final stretch to Windsor where the ride finished in
the shadow of Windsor Castle.
More and more teams have taken part over the
years as the motivation and support you receive from your team
mates can make the experience even more enjoyable and
rewarding.
