RBS supports the next generation of UK enterprise

The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc is the largest corporate supporter of The Trust's Enterprise Programme, providing disadvantaged young people with access to funding and mentor support to enable them to start up in business.

More recently it has focused on RBS’s commitment to enterprise in disadvantaged communities across the UK and reaffirms RBS’s role as the UK’s leading bank for small and medium enterprises.

RBS and The Trust work closely together to highlight the benefits of our partnership. RBS underlines its commitment to UK enterprise through its sponsorship of the national and regional Enterprise Awards at Celebrate Success.

The Group has also supported ground-breaking reports, such as Cost of Exclusion, Broke, Not Broken, and our Make it Happen book: The Prince’s Trust Guide to Starting Your Own Business.

Broke Not BrokenOur award winning partnership has been commended at a number of industry awards and we were thrilled that our partnership won an unprecedented five awards at the Corporate Engagement Awards 2011.

In March 2012 this winning streak continued when the partnership won the prestigious Corporate Sponsorship award at the Hollis Sponsorship Awards. The Hollis Sponsorship Awards bring together some of the world's biggest companies to celebrate all aspects of the sponsorship industry.

The partnership has proved an ideal platform for engaging RBS employees throughout the country.

Whether taking on our mass participation challenge ‘Mission Is Possible’ in Scotland, or using their entrepreneurialism to win ‘Zero to Hero’ and set up a small business to raise vital funds - over a quarter of a million pounds will be raised during 2012 by RBS staff.

RBS employee’s are engaged in fundraising, volunteering and business mentoring, and have helped raise over £1.2 million. This is a truly phenomenal amount of money that has changed the lives of young people like Kevin Lawrence, who started his own business through our Enterprise Programme.

It is thanks to the energy and talent of RBS staff, that together we will be able to support 11,700 disadvantaged young people to a brighter future.
