RBS supports the next generation of UK enterprise
The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc is the
largest corporate supporter of The Trust's Enterprise Programme,
providing disadvantaged young people with access to funding and
mentor support to enable them to start up in business.
The relationship between The Prince’s Trust
and The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc dates back over a
decade.
More recently it has focused on RBS’s commitment to enterprise
in disadvantaged communities across the UK and reaffirms RBS’s role
as the UK’s leading bank for small and medium enterprises.
RBS and The Trust work closely together to highlight the
benefits of our partnership. RBS underlines its commitment to UK
enterprise through its sponsorship of the national and regional
Enterprise Awards at Celebrate
Success.
The Group has also supported ground-breaking reports, such as
Cost of Exclusion, Broke, Not Broken, and our Make it Happen book: The Prince’s Trust Guide to
Starting Your Own Business.
Our award winning partnership has been
commended at a number of industry awards and we were thrilled that
our partnership won an unprecedented five awards at the
Corporate Engagement Awards 2011.
In March 2012 this winning streak continued when the partnership
won the prestigious Corporate Sponsorship award at the Hollis
Sponsorship Awards. The Hollis Sponsorship Awards bring together
some of the world's biggest companies to celebrate all aspects of
the sponsorship industry.
After the Corporate Engagement Awards, it was said:
RBS’s support of The Prince’s Trust is not only
the benchmark for corporate organisations supporting charitable
enterprise, but provides a blueprint for long term, successful
corporate sponsorships across sectors.
RBS Employees: fundraisers extraordinaire
The partnership has proved an ideal platform for engaging RBS
employees throughout the country.
Whether taking on our mass participation challenge ‘Mission Is
Possible’ in Scotland, or using their entrepreneurialism to win
‘Zero to Hero’ and set up a small
business to raise vital funds - over a quarter of a million pounds
will be raised during 2012 by RBS staff.
RBS employee’s are engaged in fundraising, volunteering and
business mentoring, and have helped raise over £1.2 million. This
is a truly phenomenal amount of money that has changed the lives of
young people like Kevin Lawrence, who
started his own business through our Enterprise Programme.
It is thanks to the energy and talent of RBS staff, that
together we will be able to support 11,700 disadvantaged young
people to a brighter future.
Martina Milburn, CEO, Prince’s Trust said:
I would like to say a huge thank you to The
Royal Bank of Scotland Group and their employees for all their
continued commitment to our work. We are proud to count RBS as a
Platinum Patron and look forward to working together moving
forwards to get even more young lives working.
