On-board fundraising

Cunard has literally taken the mission of The Trust on board, involving their guests in fundraising initiatives including foreign coin collections, quiz nights and an auction of each voyage’s navigational map.

Cunard contributed 10% of direct bookings on a selection of Voyages on Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria raising with this initiative over £50,000 for The Trust.

Back on dry land, Cunard has donated voyages and dozens of prizes for lucky winners to have lunch on board one of their beautiful liners to help raise funds at Prince’s Trust events.

Local Impact

Cunard has also been making waves in Southampton by helping to change young lives in their community. Cunard hosted a two-week work placement for a young person taking part in the Team programme - The Trust's 12-week personal development course for unemployed young people. Staff provided support and motivation every step of the way.

Cunard also helped young people on The Trust’s Get Into Business programme, which equips participants for self-employment. Cunard’s Head of Marketing took time out to evaluate and develop business plans through a Dragons' Den style activity which was thoroughly enjoyed by all the young people on the programme.

To date, Cunard has hosted three fabulous events on board their liners in aid of The Trust. The most recent was on board Queen Victoria in November 2009, with hundreds of guests enjoying the experience and all together raising nearly £35,000 for The Trust.
