Cunard is on board to change young lives

Fundraising at a rate of knots, Cunard has raised over £365,000 for The Prince’s Trust.

Cunard QM2Cunard’s enthusiasm, support and innovation has established a fantastically successful partnership with The Prince's Trust. The funds raised will help change the lives of an enormous number of young people throughout the UK.

On-board fundraising

Cunard has literally taken the mission of The Trust on-board, involving customers in fundraising initiatives including foreign coin collections, quiz nights and an auction of each voyage’s navigational map.

Cunard also contributed 10% of direct bookings on a selection of Transatlantic crossings and this fantastic initiative raised £20,850 for The Trust.

Back on dry land, Cunard has donated several prizes to help raise funds at Prince’s Trust events

Local Impact

Cunard has also been making waves in Southampton by helping to change young lives in their community.Cunard hosted a two-week work placement for a young person taking part in the Team programme - The Trust's 12-week personal development course for unemployed young people. Staff provided support and motivation every step of the way.

Cunard also helped young people on The Trust’s Get Into Business programme, which equips participants for self-employment. Cunard’s Head of Marketing took time out to evaluate and develop business plans through a Dragons Den style activity which was thoroughly enjoyed by all the young people on the programme.

QE2 Farewell Lunch in aid of the Prince’s Trust

Cunard hosted a fabulous farewell lunch on board the QE2 in aid of The Prince’s Trust. With two hundred invited guests, the event raised a fantastic £20,000, and was for many a last chance to say fond goodbye’s before the famous ship sails off to a new life in Dubai.

Amongst the guests were, Nicholas Witchell, BBC’s Royal Correspondent, and Tor Stimpson, one of The Trust’s valued young ambassadors whose life has been changed thanks to the support of organisations like Cunard.

“I am absolutely thrilled that Cunard is helping huge numbers of young people to believe in themselves and get into employment or training,” said Paul Brown, The Prince’s Trust.

The Prince's Trust is thrilled to have been one of the benefiting charities from Cunard's recent Stars For A Cause auction.

Stars from stage and screen such as Sir Ben Kingsley, Kate Winslet, Angelina Jolie and Steven Spielberg designed jewellery and put their famous signatures to Hollywood memorabilia, all to be auctioned for charity.

Prince's Trust Ambassador, Sir Ben Kingsley marked the launch of the auction at a preview event held at Bonhams in London. Sir Ben said 'This is a great opportunity to treat yourself to a wonderful piece of jewellery and support The Trust's work at the same time. Please do bid!'

These unique items drew much interest and excitement when they were later auctioned at Bonhams in LA, raising vital funds for The Trust.
