BAE Systems supports The Prince’s Trust
BAE Systems is committed to making a positive
impact to its communities – to further this goal, the company
has pledged its support to help disadvantaged young people in key
sites across the UK.
The leading defence and
security company recently committed an extremely generous £75,000 a
year for the next three years to support The Trust’s Team Programme
in four local communities.
Team is a 12-week development course that offers unemployed
young people the skills and self-confidence that they need to
achieve their potential.
We’re delighted that in 2010/2011, BAE Systems will be
supporting Team in Barrow in Furness, Glasgow, Portsmouth and
Preston.
What’s more, BAE Systems’ employees will be playing an important
role in the partnership, working directly with those young people
to help them achieve their goals.
This will include activities such as delivering CV and Interview
Skills Workshops, potential site visits and supporting young people
at their end-of-Team presentations. We’re also thrilled that BAE
Systems will be sponsoring the Young Achiever Award at the North
West Celebrate Success Awards in November 2010.
Helping a young person move into employment is
a deep investment. The impact is profound for their future, and
that of their families, our communities and the UK economy. I would
like to express my warmest gratitude for BAE System’s commitment to
investing and believing in young people over the long-term.
