Towry opens its doors to young people on the Team
programme
Wealth Advisors and Silver Patron of The
Prince's Trust gave young people the opportunity to experience part
of their programme in the working environment.
The Towry London ‘Charity Champions’ for The
Trust, Katie Jackson and Helen Gardner, organised this event as
part of a CV and Interview Skills Workshop they were facilitating
for the 16–25 year olds on the Team. They said:
It was a wonderful opportunity to work with a
cross-section of young people who, despite having to overcome quite
substantial challenges in some instances, have real potential to
contribute to their communities and wider society. Seeing the
process of young people working through challenges and starting to
find their direction was exciting.
Once in the building, Towry used interactive
activities to encourage participation from the young people, with
the aim of increasing their motivation and confidence. They also
gave practical help, with CV reviews and feedback on mock
interviews. Towry felt it wasn’t just the young people who
benefited from the day; they learnt a lot from hearing about young
people’s life experiences.
They said: “The best thing about the day was the sense of
being part of something new and positive for a diverse group of
young people as they attempt to launch themselves into the labor
market. It was a privilege to spend a day, quite apart from the
world of finance, with young adults thinking very broadly about
what they were going to do and how they were going to do it. We
would recommend it – it’s certainly worthwhile, and fun!”
