Albion and The Prince’s
Trust
A group of young people from The Prince’s
Trust Team programme visited West Bromwich Albion recently for a
busy day of activities with the club’s Community Dept.
Community Coach Nathan Wallen ran a sports
session in the Spaces 4 Sport facility for Team 83 with the young
people having to work together and think about how they could adapt
various games if they were looking after a group of school
children. After a short break Social Inclusion Manager Ryan Maye
then delivered a session on healthy lifestyles and eating a
balanced diet. The Team produced some really good answers and
showed an awareness of issues such as food labelling. After lunch
Ryan introduced Team 83 to a computerised business game in which
they had to run a company using their IT skills to manage staff,
budgets and products.

Team member Jack Wallbank, aged 16, said 'It
was a good day out and we learned a lot.'
Kirsty Bunn, also 16, added, 'It was a good team work
experience.'
Team is a 12 week course of personal
development training for 16-25 year olds which is delivered locally

including a week at a residential activity centre, and includes
team-work on real projects in the local community as well as
individual work placements. It builds key work place skills such as
confidence, motivation, teamwork and communications skills. The aim
is to help young people move into employment, education or
training. Team 83 are based at the West Midlands Police station in
Sedgley.
The Baggies are one of more than 60
