Also at the reception were some of the world’s most prestigious sporting figures, including world number one tennis player Novak Djokovic, boxing legend Lennox Lewis, 2011 Tour de France winner Cadel Evans, Formula 1 driver David Coulthard and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.

The ten young people are all 2012 Games Young Ambassadors who are involved in sports and arts in their communities and are inspiring other young people through the power of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

They are part of the ‘Opportunity Inspired by London 2012’ scheme which is helping young people across the UK make a lasting positive change to their lives inspired by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Prince's Trust is working in partnership with The Department for Culture Media and Sport, and The Home Office's Positive Futures project to get young people across the UK involved in the excitement London 2012 will bring.

It was an amazing experience and I got to meet some fantastic people. Not only did I meet the Prime Minister but I chatted with Alan Hansen, Lennox Lewis and Arsene Wenger. They are inspiring people and it was honour to be in a room with some of the best sports people in the world.
