Explore Enterprise Programme

The Prince’s Trust Explore Enterprise Programme supports unemployed young people aged 16-25 in exploring the idea of becoming self employed, whether they have a business idea in mind or are simply interested in learning more.

The programme will run on the following dates in the following areas:

  • East Ayrshire 20th – 23rd March
  • Glasgow 24th – 27th April 2012
  • Edinburgh 15th – 18th May 2012

The programme is only open to young people living in the specified local authority areas.

Details on how to apply are below.

Scotland Enterprise ProgrammeWhat is Explore Enterprise?

A four day workshop for young people to learn about topics relevant to planning and running a business and to consider whether self employment is right for them. It is designed to be practical, interactive, visual and based around discussions and activities. It aims to enable young people to feel what running their own business would be like and what it would involve.

Following the four day workshop the programme can then offer mentoring support to start a business or if self employment turns out not to be the right option, the programme can support young people to secure other outcomes in employment, education, training or voluntary work.

If starting a business is the right option for the young person, The Prince’s Trust is working in partnership with The Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust (PSYBT), specialists in business start up, and may refer young people to PSYBT to secure funding for their idea. Is it for people like me?

  • Live in Scotland

If you are all of these things, get in touch using the form below.

What help could I get?
  • Advice on employment options
  • Business skills training
  • Business planning support
  • Start-up funding through our partnership with PSYBT

Note: Participation in the Explore Enterprise Programme does not guarantee that start-up funding will be awarded by PSYBT. Applications for start-up funding are assessed in relation to a number of factors including perceived risk, business viability and individual need. If Explore Enterprise is not the right option for the young person, their details will be passed on to PSYBT who will contact them to look at how they can help them moving forward.
