Ben Kinsella Start up your own project to help promote anti- gun, knife and gang violence messages in your local community.

Projects should:

  • help promote anti-violence messages surrounding gun, knife and gang violence
  • tackle the issues around carrying knives and guns
  • make a change in your community

What is a Prince’s Trust Community Cash Award?

  • A grant of up to £3,000 to design and set-up a youth-led community project
  • Support to plan, set-up and start your project
  • Help to develop new skills for your future

Projects funded through The Ben Kinsella Fund should:

  • promote anti-knife crime messages in schools, colleges or youth clubs
  • promote positive stories about young people
  • encourage positive engagement between young people and the police
  • encourage young people to get involved in their local community

We also want to encourage projects that target these groups in the community:

  • girls
  • children of 12 years and younger
  • parents

Who can apply?

Young people aged 14 to 25 in England and Wales, and you must show that the project is involving or being set-up by young people who are:

  • aged 14-16, and achieving or at risk of achieving less than five GCSEs grades A* - C, or
  • aged 16-25 and not in education, training or work (or working less than 16 hours a week)

The Ben Kinsella Fund

  • The Prince's Trust is launching the new Ben Kinsella Fund in  England (excluding the East of England) and Wales.
  • Brooke Kinsella, campaigner and actress, whose brother Ben was murdered in 2008, is working with The Prince's Trust to select the successful projects.
