About the Enterprise programMe

Get help to explore and test your business idea with The Prince's Trust Enterprise programme.

Explore Enterprise Course, part of The Prince's Trust Enterprise programme

The Prince’s Trust Enterprise programme supports unemployed young people aged 18-30 to work out if their business ideas are viable, and decide whether self-employment is right for them.

Depending on the outcome of the decision process, the Enterprise programme can then offer mentoring support and, for those that really need it, financial support to start a business or mentoring support to secure goals in employment, education, training or volunteering.

The Prince's Trust Enterprise programme is split in to four main stages:

Stage one of The Prince's Trust Enterprise programme: Inspire

After your application has been accepted, you will be invited to attend an initial group information session, which will last around two hours. This will tell you what the programme can offer and what you need to do to participate.

Stage two of The Prince's Trust Enterprise programme: Explore

The next stage is to attend a four day Explore Enterprise Course to learn about planning a business, to feel what running a business might be like and to consider whether self-employment is the right option for you.

The Explore Enterprise Course is delivered by staff and volunteers to groups of young people and is designed to be practical, interactive, visual and based around discussions and activities.

Stage three of The Prince's Trust Enterprise programme: Launch

Following the course you will receive one to one support and mentoring to help think through, choose and plan for your next step. If financial support is needed to test your ideas, Will It Work grants can be provided.

If self employment turns out not to be the right option for you, to secure other goals in employment, education, training or voluntary work.

Stage four of The Prince's Trust Enterprise programme: Boost

If you choose to go into employment, education or training you can access six months mentoring support. If you choose to start a business, you can access two years of business mentoring, a range of free and discounted support offers for three years and if you really need it, financial support.

To apply to become a Trust-supported business you would present your business proposition to a Business Launch Group.
