Slides show Million Makers launch events, hosted by Go Ape.
Million Makers is an enterprise challenge that will see corporate teams from across the UK compete to raise the most money. But there is a common cause: to raise £1 million so that The Trust can support more young entrepreneurs in 2009.
How does it work?
Teams of employees are challenged to turn a Prince’s Trust investment of £3,000 into a profit of at least £20,000. Your team will develop an idea and business plan and submit it to The Prince’s Trust and your company. After approval, The Trust will invest £3,000 in the project. Your team will be accountable for safeguarding this investment, for running the project and for achieving the target.
What's in it for you?
Participants develop their skills in team-work, leadership, negotiation, project management and communication. Companies can potentially meet CSR objectives, benefit from an improved profile in their community, and enjoy local and national publicity. There will be a prize for the group that makes the most profit.
How many people in a team?
You will need to recruit a team of ten to fifteen employees in your company and ensure they get the full support necessary to fulfill what’s required of them throughout the challenge.
What support does your team get?
A team-building event with outdoor adventure company Go Ape will give you the chance to meet other teams and be fully briefed by The Trust.
A Prince’s Trust mentor will support your team throughout the challenge.
Various networking and skills development events will provide additional support during the six month period.
To find out more or put forward a team, please get in touch with your Prince’s Trust contact or call Nina Walker on 020 7543 7420.
“Million Makers requires real commitment and effort, but you’ll develop new skills and working practices that will stay with you long after the challenge is over.”

“It’s forced me to look outside my normal circumstances and work in unfamiliar areas. It has improved my confidence and communication skills considerably.”
