Kieran Maxwell: Young Ambassador
Kieran is the first young person from the Fairbridge
programme to become a Prince’s Trust Young Ambassador.
Young Ambassadors is The Trust’s national Young Leaders
programme, enabling young people we have supported to develop
leadership and communication skills and participate in our
work.
They have access to high quality training in public speaking,
influencing skills and leadership.
Ambassadors speak to a range of audiences, support
programme delivery, participate in the recruitment and training of
staff and volunteers. They contribute their views to influence
local and national government. The programme can be a great benefit
to their future prospects.
This year, our amazing Young Ambassadors have participated in
hundreds of local and national opportunities. National events have
included a Home Office focus group with Lord Henley on reducing
crime, a national debate about work and youth employment, staff
‘New Joiner’ events and a workshop with Baroness Newlove on young
people’s involvement in building active and safer communities.
The Young Ambassadors programme is delivered by every UK region
and country. New Young Ambassadors are recruited in two intakes per
year: Spring (April/May) and Autumn (Sept/Oct). Young people
participate in the programme for up to one year and receive
tailored support and training to develop their skills and
confidence.
If you’d like to refer a young person to the Young Ambassadors
programme, please contact your local Young Ambassadors Programme
Executive. Their contact details and more information about the
programme can be found on the
Young Ambassadors page on TrustNet.
