Photography book released in aid of The Prince's Trust
Colmore Business District and Bruntwood
have commissioned a special project with photography students
and staff at Birmingham City University.
The limited edition 100 page hardback book
contains 70 images capturing the people, businesses, buildings and
community of CBD. The photographs of Colmore Business
District, Birmingham, are works by local photography
students and aim to raise money for disadvantaged young people in
the region.
Students and staff from Birmingham City
University (BCU) came together to chronicle daily life
within the District. Students spent time with an array of
businesses and institutions, ranging from retailers and restaurants
to large corporations. The students have been supported by
international photographer Chris Steele-Perkins from Magnum Photos,
benefiting from his feedback and support.
The launch for the book was held at
Hotel Du Vin, where the book and framed prints of images featured
in the book were sold and formed part of a silent auction.
Photographers who took part in this creation were on hand to sign
their photographs.
CBD and Bruntwood have and continue to be
great supporters of The Prince’s Trust so we must say a huge thank
you to those who worked hard to put it all together.
Through the sale of the book and auction,
they aim to continue to promote Birmingham’s business quarter,
support local, talented students and raise as much money as they
can for The Prince's Trust.
So far the book has raised over £3,500. For
