The Prince’s Trust Cymru appoints new director

The Prince's Trust Cymru has appointed a new director to head up its operations in Wales.

Lesley KirkpatrickLesley Kirkpatrick has joined The Trust from Powys County Council where she was head of regeneration and development. She will be responsible for leading the charity in Wales from its new centre in Ocean Way, Cardiff.

Lesley said: “I am hugely excited by the new challenge of working in the voluntary sector.

"I am passionate about helping people and I have been most impressed by the enthusiasm and dedication of the team in Wales. I am looking forward to making a difference to peoples’ lives.”

The Trust recently opened a new centre in Ocean Way in Cardiff which provides improved facilities for young people who are struggling to get their lives back on track.

The Prince’s Trust supports young people aged 13 – 30 who may be from disadvantaged or vulnerable backgrounds, giving them practical support to help them overcome their barriers and develop the confidence and self-esteem to find a job.

The new centre brings together operations from three former offices, including the former Fairbridge centre, now part of The Prince’s Trust, and the former office in Porth. As well as improved office space, the centre has extensive facilities to deliver its programmes under one roof.

Lesley said:

These are great facilities and will allow us to support young people in Wales in a focused and effective way.
