Comedians raise the roof for young people
Rowan Atkinson, Joan Rivers and Miranda Hart
were among the comedians who performed for TRH The Prince of Wales
and The Duchess of Cornwall at The Prince’s Trust comedy gala 2012
– We Are Most Amused supported by Novae.
The comedy extravaganza, which took place at the Royal
Albert Hall, raised vital funds to help the charity support
disadvantaged young people into jobs and training.
The fundraiser comes as almost a million young people are
struggling to find work.
Comedy’s finest collaborated at the gala – which was hosted and
directed by Ben Elton – including Jimmy Carr, Stephen K Amos,
Sanjeev Bhaskar, Omid Djalili, Milton Jones, Patrick Kielty, Helen
Lederer, Jon Culshaw, Ed Byrne and E4 comedy trio The Midnight
Beast. There was also a contribution from Dame Edna Everage.
Blackadder
The show climaxed with a specially written Blackadder sketch,
reuniting Rowan Atkinson and Tony Robinson.
