Bags of potential
Superdrug helped us celebrate our 30th Birthday in style by selling an exclusive, limited edition bag in every Superdrug store. The bag was designed by a Trust-supported business and was sold throughout May and June 2006, making it the ultimate summer accessory. Even celebrities such as Kate Moss were pictured with the bargain buy.

Over 60,000 bags were sold, raising £100,000 for The Prince's Trust.

As part of their partnership with The Trust, Superdrug has been encouraging young people to Get Into Retail. This exciting course offers 16-25 year olds the opportunity to learn about the retail sector while completing a work placement which teaches them valuable skills.

A Superdrug store in Rotherham has already opened their doors to young people hoping to Get Into Retail, with trainees attending a series of off the job sessions, followed by practical, hands on experience including customer service, merchandising, date coding, price checking and replenishment.

The scheme was a great success, with 4 young people in Rotherham being offered jobs at Superdrug. Here is what some of them had to say:

"I have not only gained new skills from the Superdrug course, but I have met new friends. I have also gained a lot more confidence in myself which makes me feel better inside."

"It has given me a chance to choose what I want in life, and what to be, and to do in the future."
