For the second year running, the insurance industry went head to head in the Insurance Leadership Group overseas challenge in support of The Prince’s Trust.

Nine teams set out across the Namib, the oldest desert in the world, to brave a four-day challenge on foot and by bike in one of the harshest environments in the world. In 40 degree heat, all participants cycled, biked and trekked over 150 km through the desert with a 70m abseil on the final afternoon. Crossing such inhospitable terrain took not only fitness but sheer grit and determination.

We have great pleasure in announcing the winning teams:

1st – AIG UK Ltd (The Laughing Hyenas)
2nd – Watson Wyatt (The Ostrich Dancers)
3rd – Markel International (Just Desserts) and SSP Holdings Ltd (Go For Its)

Congratulations to everyone who took part in what was a fantastic challenge and which has raised over £100,000 for The Trust - a spectacular achievement!
